Pest Control Wapping
Private flats, communal fabric and business premises can share an address without sharing one source. We document each zone before drawing a route between them.
- Authorised areas inspected separately
- Risers, basements and refuse rooms included when relevant
- Management actions attached to findings

Two questions are recorded for every zone.
Is there current evidence here, and is there a credible connection to the next area?
The inspection widens only when a finding justifies it.
- 01
Start inside the reported zone
The specimen, droppings, damage or sighting is verified and dated.
- 02
Examine the nearest credible route
Services and fabric are judged against species, direction and fresh use.
- 03
Request the next authorised space
Shared access is added when evidence supports it, not as a blanket assumption.
- 04
Separate treatment scopes
Private, communal and commercial actions retain their own records and responsible contacts.
Movement is possible; evidence still has to demonstrate it.
Service routes between rooms
Small gaps, pipework and ceiling voids are relevant when droppings, gnawing or monitor results form a continuous path.
Warm and moist shared fabric
Detections near risers or equipment can justify coordinated monitoring, while source and extent remain subject to inspection.
Breeding and entry are different
Species helps distinguish an internal breeding source from insects entering through doors, vents or another space.
Ground, basement and drainage
Riverside surroundings do not prove an indoor problem. The route at the property needs current signs and a usable connection.
Access should not depend on finding a keyholder during the visit.
Confirm the private boundary
Give the exact room, evidence and any area inside the flat that cannot be reached safely.
Check visitor arrangements
Confirm keys, lifts, loading restrictions and whether advance contractor registration is required.
Authorise shared inspection
Identify the relevant riser, store or basement and receive corrective actions for building fabric.
Record what cannot yet be concluded.
If mouse droppings are found inside a kitchen beside a service penetration, the technician can inspect the room and assess that opening. Without access to the riser beyond it, the report should not claim to have located the source. It can instead describe the evidence, protect the occupied space and request a specific shared inspection.
A cockroach detection in a communal bin room has a different boundary. Monitoring there may confirm harbourage or movement around refuse and services, but it does not establish activity in every dwelling. Unit-level reports remain separate and are compared only with consent and an operational reason.
Basements and waterside surroundings can make rats seem the obvious explanation for any noise or mark. Local context is not identification. Droppings, gnawing, tracks, burrows or monitor results still need to connect the report to a species and route inside the property.
When further access is approved, the second inspection extends the evidence map rather than replacing it. Dates, monitor identities and previously inaccessible areas remain visible in the record so managers can see why the scope changed.
Programmes selected for the inspected zone.
Before private and shared areas are connected.
Can a pest route cross private and communal space?+
Yes. Pipework, risers, corridors, basements and refuse areas can connect spaces, but the route must be investigated and authorised access is needed for each area.
Who should receive the treatment report?+
The customer should identify the person responsible for shared repairs or access. Findings can then be separated into actions for the occupant, pest technician and building manager.
Are riverside surroundings proof of rat activity indoors?+
No. Local surroundings do not establish an infestation at a particular address. Fresh signs and a credible building route are required.
Can a concierge provide access on the day?+
Only if this has been authorised. Confirm visitor procedures, keys, loading restrictions and the relevant contact before attendance.
Why might adjacent units need checking?+
If evidence suggests movement through shared fabric, additional inspection can help define the source and extent. This is a finding-led decision, not an automatic assumption.
Who can open the next relevant space?
Provide the fresh evidence, full postcode and access contacts. We will structure a proportionate first attendance.
